A free tool to recover deleted files from Microsoft

Microsoft has launched a new Windows File Recovery tool, designed to allow users to recover files that were accidentally deleted from personal computers.

Windows File Recovery comes with a command-line application image that can recover a set of files and documents from local storage disks, USB external storage disks, and even external SD memory cards from cameras. The application does not support the recovery of files deleted from cloud storage services, or files shared across networks.

Like all other file recovery apps, the new tool requires the user to use it soon. Because data deleted from storage media is only recoverable before overwriting any other data.

The new Microsoft (Windows File Recovery) tool can be used to recover MP3 audio files, MP4 video files, PDF files, JPEG image files, and application files such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Powerpoint.

The tool comes with a default mode designed primarily for NTFS file systems. It will also be able to recover files from damaged disks, or after formatting them. Another mode – perhaps the most common one – is because it allows users to recover specific file types from FAT, exFAT, and ReFS file systems. However, this mode will take longer to recover files.

Microsoft hopes that the new Windows File Recovery Tool will be useful for any user by mistakenly deleting important files, or by accidentally erasing the storage disk.

It is noteworthy that Microsoft already provides a feature (previous versions) in earlier versions of Windows 10 that allows users to recover deleted files, but to take advantage of them, the user must specifically activate it using the (File History) feature which is disabled by default.
